Abstract:
Objective To observe the effect of recombinant human basic fibroblast growth factor (RhbFGF) on incision healing after open repair in elderly patients with inguinal hernia.
Methods A total of 90 elderly patients underwent open inguinal hernia repair in Nantong Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine were selected and divided into treatment group and control group according to random number table method. There were 45 patients in each group. The treatment group was given RhbFGF external application after operation, and the control group was given routine dressing change. The incision healing time, scar length, incision complication rate and scar leveling rate were observed.
Results Incision healing time, scar length, incision complications rate and scar leveling rate of the treatment group were better than those in the control group, with significant differences (P<0.05). No adverse reactions were observed in both groups.
Conclusion External application of RhbFGF after open inguinal hernia repair in elderly patients can significantly shorten the healing time, reduce the incidence of incision complications, improve the appearance of scars, and is safe and effective.
