Abstract:

Objective

To investigate the effects of comfort nursing on sleep quality and satisfaction of elderly patients with inguinal hernia during laparoscopic surgery.

Methods

Eighty elderly patients with inguinal hernia admitted to Linquan County People's Hospital from January 2020 to December 2021 were randomly selected as subjects. All patients received laparoscopic surgery and were divided into two groups by random number table method: observation group and control group, with 40 cases each group. The observation group received comfort nursing intervention, while the control group received routine nursing intervention. The results of sleep quality change at the first day after surgery and satisfaction of the two groups after nursing were compared..

Results

There were no significant differences in sleep quality scores between the two groups before nursing intervention (P>0.05). After nursing intervention, the sleep quality of patients in both groups was improved, and the score of observation group was lower than that of control group (P<0.05). The satisfaction of nursing in the observation group was significantly higher than that in control group (P<0.05).

Conclusion

During laparoscopic surgery for elderly patients with inguinal hernia, the implementation of comfortable nursing intervention is helpful to improve patients' sleep quality and improve nursing satisfaction.
