Anesthesia management in adult inguinal hernia ambulatory surgery

Abstract:

The term "ambulatory surgery" refers to an operation or procedure in which the patient is admitted, operated and discharged within 24 hours. Inguinal hernia ambulatory surgery has been performed for more than a decade. This approach has been shown to reduce the average length of hospital stays, lower medical expenses, and enhance patient recovery. In recent years, anesthesia strategies and perioperative management for inguinal hernia ambulatory surgery have significant advancements. This article provides a review of the recent developments in anesthesia management of ambulatory surgery for adult inguinal hernia patient, aiming to offer insights for the advancement of ambulatory surgery practices.
