Abstract:
Objective To investigate the clinical effect of Roy adaptation model (RAM) on children with hernia treated by laparoscopic operation.
Methods 60 cases of children with hernia admitted to our hospital were randomized into control group and observation group. The control group patients were treated by conventional nursing of laparoscopic hernia repair, while the observation group patients were given RAM based on the conventional nursing intervention. Operation time, postoperative activity time, hospital stay, complication incidence and nursing satisfaction in the two groups were compared.
Results The observation group patients had significantly shorter operative time, postoperative activity time and the hospital stay compared with the control group. There was 1 case of poor incision healing and 1 case of abdominal traction pain in the observation group, while there were 2 cases of incision infection, 3 cases of poor incision healing, 4 cases of abdominal traction pain and 3 cases of urinary retention in the control group. The overall complication incidence in the observation group was lower than that in the control group (6.67% vs. 40%). The family members of the observation group patients displayed much higher nursing satisfaction than the control group (96.67% vs. 70%).
Conclusions RAM is suitable for pediatric hernia treated by laparoscopic operation, which could shorten operation time and promote early recovery, as well as increase nursing satisfaction.
