Abstract:

Objective

To investigate the clinical significance of color Doppler ultrasonography combined with serum C-reactive protein in the diagnosis of incarcerated inguinal hernia.

Methods

A total of 74 patients diagnosed with incarcerated inguinal hernia admitted in Hainan Armed Police Corps Hospital from February 2018 to June 2021 were selected as study subjects, and the clinical symptoms of the patients were analyzed. All patients were examined by color Doppler ultrasonography combined with serum C-reactive protein index, and were analyzed using surgical exploration.

Results

(1) Color Doppler ultrasonography could detect the abdominal wall image of inguinal hernia defect, which could identify the nature of incarcerated contents. (2) Color Doppler ultrasonography showed that incarcerated direct hernia accounted for 1.35%, incarcerated indirect hernia accounted for 91.89%, incarcerated femoral hernia accounted for 6.76%, which were consistent with the results of surgical exploration. (3) The proportion of incarcerated contents was 56.76% in the intestine, which accounted for the largest proportion. The proportion of contents was 39.19% in omentum. The proportion of contents was 2.70% in appendix combined with intestine. The proportion of contents was 1.35% in ovary, which was consistent with the results of surgical exploration. (4) Serum C-reactive protein is closely correlated with the diagnosis of incarcerated inguinal hernia.

Conclusion

Color Doppler ultrasonography combined with serum C-reactive protein has high diagnostic value in inguinal incarcerated hernia.
