Abstract:

Objective

To explore and evaluate the effects of an individualized pain nursing model on pain in patients after tension-free inguinal hernia repair.

Methods

Seventy-five patients with inguinal hernia who underwent tension-free inguinal hernia repair under local anesthesia from June 2020 to June 2021 were randomly divided into routine nursing group (n=38) and individual pain care group (n=37). Both groups were nursed until the patients were discharged. The differences in postoperative acute pain between the two groups were compared, including the initial pain score and the highest pain intensity score within 72 hours after operation.

Results

Within 72 hours, the pain intensity score of individualized pain nursing group was significantly lower than that of the routine nursing group, including initial exercise and resting pain score (P<0.05), and the pain score of exercise and rest with the highest pain intensity (P<0.05).

Conclusion

Individualized pain nursing can improve the acute pain after tension-free repair of inguinal hernia under local anesthesia.
