Abstract:

Objective

To investigate the application value of high-frequency ultrasound and Doppler ultrasound in the diagnosis of abdominal external hernia.

Methods

144 patients with suspicion of abdominal external hernia who were admitted to the hospital between September 2018 and September 2019 were selected as the subjects. They were examined by high-frequency ultrasound and Doppler ultrasound, respectively. With pathological diagnosis as the golden standard, the positive detection rates, accuracy rates, sensitivities and specificities of single detection and combined detection of high-frequency ultrasound and Doppler ultrasound were evaluated.

Results

The sensitivity and specificity of the combined detection of high-frequency ultrasound and Doppler ultrasound (98.92% and 98.04%) were higher than those of high-frequency ultrasound (87.10% and 90.20%) and Doppler ultrasound (82.80% and 84.31%). The missed diagnosis rate and misdiagnosis rate of high-frequency ultrasound combined with Doppler ultrasound (0.01% and 0.01%) were lower than those of high-frequency ultrasound (0.08% and 0.11%) and Doppler ultrasound (0.04% and 0.06%). The accuracy of high-frequency ultrasound combined with Doppler ultrasound (98.61%) was higher than that of high-frequency ultrasound (88.19%) or Doppler ultrasound (83.33%).

Conclusion

The diagnosis rates of both high-frequency ultrasound and Doppler ultrasound are high for abdominal external hernia. The combined diagnosis rate, sensitivity and specificity of the two are significantly higher than single diagnosis. The accurate diagnosis of the type of abdominal external hernia can provide a basis for the development of clinical plan and interventional treatment of abdominal external hernia.
