Abstract:

Objective

To explore the effect of abdominal compression combined with comprehensive nursing intervention in patients with abdominal parastomal hernia undergoing colonoscopy.

Methods

Sixty patients with peristomal hernia in the First Affiliated Hospital of Anhui Medical University from January 2019 to January 2022 were selected as the study subjects. All patients underwent colonoscopy, and were divided into the control group (n=30) and observation group (n=30) according to the principle of random number grouping. The control group received routine nursing interventions, while the observation group received abdominal compression combined with comprehensive nursing interventions on the basis of the control group. The vital signs, anxiety (SAS) score, depression (SDS) score, pain during examination (VAS) score, examination time, success rate of microscopic examination, self-care ability score and quality of life score of the two groups of patients were compared.

Results

Compared with the control group, the heart rate and blood pressure in the observation group were significantly lower during examination and after intervention (P<0.05). Compared with the control group, the observation group decreased significantly in the SAS score, SDS score, and VAS score during the examination after implementing combined with nursing intervention (P<0.05). The examination time in the observation group was significantly shortened (P<0.05). The success rate of microscopic examination in the observation group was higher than that in the control group (P<0.05). The self-care ability score and quality of life score of the observation group after intervention were significantly higher than those of the control group (P<0.05).

Conclusion

Abdominal compression combined with comprehensive nursing intervention during colonoscopy can maintain stable vital signs, alleviate negative emotions, reduce pain during examination, shorten examination time, improve the success rate of colonoscopy, and promote the self-care ability score and quality of life score.
