Abstract:

Objective

To explore the application effect of comprehensive nursing path in the laparoscopic repair of geriatric inguinal hernia.

Methods

A total of 120 elderly patients with inguinal hernia who received tension-free hernioplasty in the Department of general surgery of Dongying District People's Hospital of Dongying City from September 2018 to January 2020 were retrospectively analyzed. Participants were divided into two groups according to random number table method, 60 cases of patients with perioperative routine nursing intervention as the control group, 60 cases of patients with comprehensive nursing path as the observation group. The operation conditions (anesthesia time, operation time, blood loss, infusion volume), postoperative recovery (ambulation time, intestinal function recovery time, first eating time, bowel sounds recovery time, incision recovery time, hospitalization duration), postoperative complications (incision infection, incision hematoma, scrotal hematoma, intestinal obstruction, nausea, vomiting) and nursing intervention satisfaction were observed.

Results

There was no significant difference in anesthesia time, operation time, blood loss and infusion volume between the two groups (P>0.05). The ambulation time, intestinal function recovery time, first eating time, bowel sounds recovery time, incision recovery time and hospitalization duration of the observation group were less than those of the control group (P<0.05). The incidence of postoperative complications in the observation group was lower than that in the control group (P<0.05). The distribution of nursing intervention satisfaction in the observation group was significantly better than that in the control group (P<0.05).

Conclusion

For patients undergoing inguinal hernia repair surgery, the intervention measures under the guidance of comprehensive nursing pathway during perioperative period can effectively promote the improvement of various postoperative recovery indicators, reduce the risk of postoperative complications, and improve the satisfaction of patients with nursing intervention.
