Abstract:

Objective

To explore the application effect of clinical nursing pathway in tension-free repair of inguinal hernia.

Methods

144 patients with inguinal hernia who underwent tension-free repair in Danzhou People's Hospital from February 2016 to July 2017 were selected as the study subjects, they were divided into the study group and the control group according to the different perioperative nursing methods, 72 cases in each group. The study group adopted clinical nursing pathway, while the control group received routine nursing. The postoperative pain status and related clinical indicators were compared between the 2 groups, and the postoperative complications and disease recurrence were observed.

Results

Hospitalization time and postoperative bed rest time in the study group were significantly shorter than those in the control group, and total hospitalization costs were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). The VAS scores of the 2 groups decreased significantly from preoperative to 1 day before discharge (P<0.01), and the VAS scores of the study group were significantly lower than those of the control group at all time points except preoperative (P<0.05). The incidence and recurrence rate of complications in the study group were significantly lower than those in the control group (P<0.05).

Conclusion

Nursing in tension-free repair of inguinal hernia according to clinical nursing pathway can effectively reduce the pain, postoperative complications and the risk of recurrence. It is beneficial to the recovery of patients, an is worth popularizing.
