Abstract:

Objective

To analyze the effect of continuous intervention in elderly diabetic patients with inguinal hernia after operation.

Methods

From January 2015 to January 2017, 104 cases of elderly diabetic patients with inguinal hernia were selected from Beijing Chaoyang Hospital attached to the Capital Medical University. Random divided into intervention group and control group, both groups performed tension-free hernia repair. The control group adopted the conventional treatment model, and the intervention group was given continuous intervention after discharge on the basis of the control group.

Results

The blood glucose control, BMI and quality of life of the intervention group were significantly higher than those of the control group (P<0.05), and the incidence of postoperative incision infection was significantly lower than that of the control group (P<0.05).

Conclusion

Continuous nursing intervention for elderly diabetic patients with inguinal hernia after operation can effectively control patients' blood glucose and BMI, reduce the occurrence of postoperative complications and improve the quality of life.
