Abstract:

Objective

To investigate the clinical effect and safety of transvaginal mesh pelvic floor reconstruction for pelvic organ prolapsed (POP).

Methods

A total of 118 female patients who underwent treatment for pelvic floor prolapse in Handan Central Hospital from January 2016 to December 2017 were selected. The study subjects were divided into the study group (n=59) and control group (n=59). The control group was treated with traditional surgical methods, and the study group was treated with transvaginal mesh pelvic floor reconstruction.

Results

The operation time, the first time to get out of bed after operation and the hospital stay after operation in the study group were shorter than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). There was no significant difference in intraoperative bleeding between the study group and the control group (P>0.05). The effective rate of the study group after treatment was significantly higher than that of the control group (P<0.05).

Conclusion

Transvaginal mesh pelvic floor reconstruction is an effective and safe way to treat POP, which can significantly improve the clinical symptoms of patients. However, the surgical indications should be strictly accommodated.
