Abstract:
Objective To analyze the clinical perioperative nursing methods and experience of inguinal hernia tension-free repair in elderly male patients.
Methods 116 elderly male patients underwent inguinal hernia tension-free repair in China-Japan Friendship Hospital of Jilin University from January 2013 to December 2014 were selected. The patients were randomly divided into observation group and control group, 53 cases in each group. The control group was given conventional nursing care, and the observation group were given clinical nursing care pathway. The postoperative hospitalization time, costs, and incidence of postoperative complications as well as patient satisfaction with both groups care were compared.
Results The hospitalization time and costs of observation group was lower than those of control group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). The incidence of complications in the observation group was 6.9%, which was lower than the control group (32.6%), the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). The nursing satisfaction was 91.4%, which was higher than that of the control group (70.7%), and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).
Conclusion The clinical nursing pathway can effectively reduce the postoperative complication rate of elderly male patients with laparoscopic inguinal hernia tension-free repair, shorten the length of hospital stay, reduce hospitalization costs, and effectively improve the prognosis of patients.
