Abstract:

Objective

To investigate the effects of clinical nursing path in inguinal hernia tension-free repair.

Methods

80 cases of inguinal hernia underwent tension-free repair in Jingmen Second People’s Hospital from June 2013 to June 2015 were enrolled. These patients were randomly divided into intervention group and control group, and 40 cases in each group. The control group received routine care, the intervention group were given clinical nursing care path. The effect of the two groups were observed.

Results

The anal exhaust time, ambulation time, hospital stay, and nursing care satisfaction scores in intervention group were (15.7±2.5) hours, (9.2±1.6) hours, (6.3±1.0) days, and (91.7±3.5) points, respectively. The anal exhaust time, ambulation time, and hospital stay were lower and the nursing care satisfaction scores were higher in the intervention group than the control group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). The normal activity recovery time and postoperative incision pain duration in intervention group were significantly lower than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). The complication rate of patients in the intervention group was 5.0%, significantly lower than that in the control group (17.5%), the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).

Conclusion

The effect of clinical nursing path in inguinal hernia tension-free repair was significant. It can reduce postoperative complications, shorten hospital stay, and improve the patients’ nursing care satisfaction.
