Analysis of parastomal hernia: diagnosis and treatment

Abstract:

One of the most common complications following stoma creation is paratostomy hernia, which has a high incidence and is most commonly seen in patients after the Miles operation. Once it occurs, it will have a great impact on the quality of life of patients and even pose a threat to their lives in severe cases. The main therapy for paratostomy hernia is surgical treatment; however, the recurrence rate after surgery is high. In recent years, with the continuous progress of medical technology and material technology and the continuous innovation of the treatment concept, the diagnosis and treatment of parastomal hernia have made great progress, but the overall effect is still unsatisfactory. The purpose of this article is to summarize and discuss the progress of diagnosis and treatment of parastomal hernia, combined with domestic and foreign research results.
