Progress in diagnosis and treatment of parastomal hernia

Abstract:

Parastomal hernia is one of the most common long-term complications after abdominal wall stoma surgery. It has the characteristics of high incidence and high recurrence rate after repair. It seriously affects the quality of life of patients, and even leads to the increase the medical costs. The purpose of this article is to summarize and discuss the classification, incidence, etiology and risk factors, diagnosis and surgical indications, and surgical treatment of parastomal hernia, combined with domestic and foreign research results and relevant guidelines.
