Effect of nursing intervention based on IMB model on complications of abdominal intestine enterostomy and children's nursing satisfaction

Objective

To investigate the effect of nursing intervention based on information-motivation-behavioral skills (IMB) model on the complications of abdominal intestine enterostomy and children's nursing satisfaction.

Methods

Sixty-six children with abdominal intestine enterostomy who were admitted to West China hospital from September 2014 to August 2019 were enrolled. The patients were divided into two groups according to the intervention method, with 33 cases in each group. The control group only received routine nursing. The research group adopted the IMB-based model nursing interventions. The probability of complications in both groups and parental care satisfaction between the two groups were compared.

Results

The probability of complications in the control group was higher than that in the study group (P<0.05). The satisfaction of parents in the control group was lower than that in the study group (P<0.05).

Conclusion

In the process of nursing children with abdominal intestine stoma, the nursing intervention based on IMB model is effective, and it can be widely promoted and applied in clinical practice.
