Abstract:

Objective

To investigate the clinical value of high frequency ultrasound and Doppler ultrasound in the diagnosis of external abdominal hernia.

Methods

The suspected patients with external abdominal hernia who were admitted to the Department of General Surgery in our hospital from August 2019 to August 2020 were examined by high frequency ultrasound and Doppler ultrasound, and the ultrasonic images of high frequency ultrasound and Doppler ultrasound were recorded in detail. The diagnosis was confirmed by surgery. The accuracy, misdiagnosis rate, missed diagnosis rate, sensitivity, specificity and positive detection rate of high frequency ultrasound, Doppler ultrasound and the combined examination were calculated and compared.

Results

(1) The missed diagnosis rate and misdiagnosis rate of high frequency ultrasound combined with Doppler ultrasound in the diagnosis of external abdominal hernia were lower than those of high frequency ultrasound alone and Doppler ultrasound detection alone [1.40% vs 12.59%, 17.48%; 1.98% vs 9.90%, 15.84%] (P<0.05), and the diagnostic accuracy of combined detection was significantly higher than that of single detection (98.36% vs 88.52%, 83.20%) (P<0.05); (2) The positive detection rate (98.60%), sensitivity (98.60%) and specificity (98.02%) of high frequency ultrasound combined with Doppler ultrasound in the diagnosis of external abdominal hernia were higher than those of high frequency ultrasound alone (92.59%, 87.41%, 90.10%) and Doppler ultrasound detection alone (88.06%, 82.52%, 84.16%) (P<0.05).

Conclusion

High frequency ultrasound and Doppler ultrasound have high accuracy in diagnosis of external abdominal hernia, but the diagnostic accuracy, positive detection rate, sensitivity and specificity of the combined detection are higher, the missed diagnosis rate and misdiagnosis rate are lower, which provides reference for clinical diagnosis and treatment of externalabdominal hernia.
