To explore the effect of transverse hernia sac on laparoscopic hernia repair for Gilbert type Ⅲ inguinal hernia.

The clinical data of 60 patients with unilateral Gilbert type III inguinal hernia treated by laparoscopic inguinal hernia repair in General Surgery Department of Rugao Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from January 2019 to January 2022 were retrospectively analyzed. According to the management of hernia sac, patients were divided into the transverse hernia sac group and the complete dissection hernia sac group, with 30 cases in each group. General data, surgical indicators (surgical method, operation time, intraoperative blood loss, postoperative hospital stay), early postoperative pain score, postoperative complications (seroma, urinary retention, chronic pain) and recurrence of the two groups were analyzed and compared.

There was no significant difference between the two groups in terms of general data, surgical indicators, early postoperative pain score, and complications (P>0.05). There was no recurrence in the two groups after one year of follow-up.

In laparoscopic hernia repair, there is no significant difference in the treatment of type Gilbert Ⅲ inguinal hernia between transverse hernia sac and complete dissection hernia sac. The advantages and disadvantages of the two hernia sac treatments need to be further studied.
