Abstract:

Objective

To investigate the application and clinical value of high frequency ultrasound combined with color Doppler ultrasound in indirect inguinal hernia and femoral hernia.

Methods

A total of 103 patients who received high-frequency ultrasound and color Doppler ultrasound before operation in our hospital from January 2018 to April 2021 were selected as the study subjects. All subjects received high-frequency ultrasound and color Doppler ultrasound. The results of surgical examination, high-frequency ultrasound, color Doppler ultrasound and their combined results, as well as imaging manifestations, diagnostic efficacy of single detection and combined detection were compared.

Results

After surgical exploration, 85 cases of oblique inguinal hernia and 18 cases of femoral hernia were found in 103 subjects by surgical exploration. The accuracy of high-frequency ultrasound for oblique hernia and femoral hernia was higher than that of color Doppler ultrasound alone, and the accuracy of combined detection was higher than that of single detection. When tested alone, the sensitivity, specificity, positive prediction rate and negative prediction rate of high frequency ultrasound were the highest. The sensitivity, specificity, positive prediction rate and negative prediction rate of combined detection were higher than those of single detection.

Conclusion

When the preoperative examination is carried out by experienced physicians, high-frequency ultrasound imaging has good accuracy in distinguishing femoral hernia from inguinal hernia, and color Doppler ultrasound can provide a basis for the selection of surgical plan by displaying blood flow signals and other advantages. The combination of the two methods can provide a more intuitive and accurate basis for preoperative diagnosis.
