Abstract:

Objective

To explore the accuracy of high-frequency ultrasound in the preoperative diagnosis of inguinal oblique hernia repair.

Methods

From April 2019 to April 2021, the treatment of groin area pain in 120 patients was included as the study subjects. All patients used Doppler ultrasound and high frequency ultrasound examination and performed inguinal hernia repair to compare the consistency of high frequency ultrasound and surgical results and to compare the differences and accuracy of the two examinations.

Results

Surgical judgment confirmed 132 lesions in 120 patients. There were 125 inguinal hernias and 7 non-inguinal hernias. High-frequency ultrasound showed 144 lesions in total. There were 136 cases of hernia, including 20 direct hernia and 116 oblique hernia. Among the two results, the difference in the number of easily regenerated hernia, difficult regenerated hernia, and incarcerated hernias was statistically significant (P<0.05). 12 (8.33%) lesions were misdiagnosed by high-frequency ultrasound, and 1 (0.69%) lesions was missed. There was a strong consistency between the detection of high-frequency ultrasound lesions and the surgical results.

Conclusion

The accuracy of high-frequency ultrasound in the preoperative diagnosis of inguinal oblique hernia repair is highly consistent with the surgical results, which deserves clinical promotion.
