Abstract:
Objective To explore the effect of smart phone application in the whole process of inguinal hernia patients' nursing monitoring process.
Methods According to the random number table method, 100 patients with perioperative inguinal hernia admitted to the General Surgery Department of the 904th Hospital of the Joint Service Support Force of the Chinese People's Liberation Army from April 2019 to April 2020 were divided into a control group of 50 cases (routine health education) and observation group of 50 cases (routine health education+smart phone application monitoring). The postoperative recovery, quality of life, nursing compliance, nursing satisfaction and complications were compared between the two groups.
Results There was no significant difference in postoperative recovery (exhaust, get out of bed, pain duration and hospital stay) in the two groups. Postoperative quality of life scores (appetite, sleep quality, mental status, disease cognition, family cooperation) in the observation group were better than those in the control group. Nursing compliance and nursing satisfaction in the observation group (96.00%, 92.00%) were higher than those in the control group (82.00%, 76.00%). The incidence of complications (incision infection, urinary retention, seroma, recurrence) in the observation group was lower than that in the control group (P<0.05).
Conclusion The use of smart phone applications for whole process nursing monitoring and management of patients with inguinal hernia does not increase disease recovery time, at the same time can improves quality of life, patient compliance and satisfaction, and reduces complications.
