Methods 120 elderly patients with inguinal hernia who underwent day operation in Hubei Provincial Hospital from August 2017 to August 2018 were selected and randomly divided into observation group and control group, with 60 cases in each group. Both groups of patients were given the same nursing method during the hospital treatment and discharged according to the routine nursing guidance. The observation group was given continuous nursing intervention of family members' synchronous health education after discharge, while the control group was given routine follow-up after discharge. Curative effect index and satisfaction score of day surgery rehabilitation evaluation were compared between the two groups.

The doctor-patient communication and emotional support, and the health education satisfaction scores of the observation group were significantly higher than those of the control group (P<0.05).
