Abstract:
Objective To explore the application effect and sonographic characteristics of color Doppler blood flow imaging in the diagnosis of simple inguinal hernia.
Methods A retrospective analysis were conducted on 57 patients who were diagnosed with simple inguinal hernia admitted to Lujiang County People's Hospital from January 2018 to May 2020. All patients underwent color Doppler ultrasound examination. Describe the results of surgical exploration and color Doppler ultrasound detection and analyze the diagnostic efficacy of color Doppler ultrasound for simple inguinal hernia.
Results There were 52 males and 5 females, with an average age of (59.27±13.56) years and an average disease duration of (4.51±1.48) months. After surgical diagnosis, 57 cases were diagnosed as simple inguinal hernia, with 9 cases of direct hernia, 47 cases of indirect hernia and 1 cases of femoral hernia. A total of 55 cases of inguinal hernia were diagnosed by color Doppler. One indirect hernia and one direct hernia were misdiagnosed without any missed diagnosis. The diagnostic sensitivity of color Doppler ultrasound for inguinal hernia was 96.49% (55/57), the diagnostic specificity was 100.00% (7/7), the diagnostic accuracy was 96.88% (62/64), the positive predictive value was 100.00% (57/57), the negative predictive value was 77.78% (7/9), and the Kappa value of the two diagnostic methods of color Doppler ultrasound and surgery was 0.838. The area under the ROC curve for the diagnosis of simple inguinal hernia by color Doppler was 0.809.
Conclusion Color Doppler ultrasound has good accuracy and useful value in the diagnosis of simple inguinal hernia, but in actual work, it needs to be combined with imaging results, clinical manifestations, laboratory indicators and other factors to comprehensively consider for providing good preoperative diagnosis.
