Abstract:
Objective To investigate the clinical effects and postoperative complications between self-gripping mesh and suture fixation mesh in laparoscopic inguinal hernia repair.
Methods Patients who underwent inguinal hernia repair in Songshanhu Central hospital from January 2016 to June 2018 were selected and 86 cases who met the criteria were included. According to the actual surgical treatment, they were divided into group A (self-gripping mesh, n=46) and group B (suture fixation mesh, n=40). The operation situation, postoperative pain and complications of the two groups were observed and compared.
Results In group A, the operation time was shorter and the intraoperative blood loss was decreased (P<0.001), but there were no significant differences in bed time, exhaust time, hospitalization time and painkiller usage after operation (P>0.05). At 24 hours after the operation, the pain of the two groups reached the peak, and then with the passage of time, the pain improved significantly (P<0.05). There was no significant difference in VAS score between the two groups (P>0.05) at 6 months after operation. There was no significant difference in the incidence of postoperative complications between the two groups (P>0.05).
Conclusion The use of self-gripping mesh in laparoscopic inguinal hernia repair can shorten the operation time and reduce the amount of bleeding, shorten the acute pain time, and increase the incidence of complications. It has high clinical application value.
