Vascular anatomical characteristics in iliac inguinal region and vascular injury management in laparoscopic inguinal hernia repair

Abstract:

Laparoscopic inguinal hernia repair was widely used in recently decades. Vascular injury was one of the common and serious complications. The occurrence of vascular injury was mainly related to the shortage of awareness on blood vessel anatomy in inguinal area. The present article interpreted the anatomy of main blood vessels on the surgical approach. Meanwhile, according to literature reports and author's experience, the article paid the attention on risk factors, treatment skills and methods of vascular injury during laparoscopic trans-abdominal preperitoneal hernia repair and laparoscopic totally extra-peritoneal hernia repair inguinal hernia repair.
