Abstract:

Objective

To explore the clinical effect of vacuum sealing drainage (VSD) in the treatment of abdominal wall wounds infection.

Methods

70 patients with abdominal wall wounds infection in Inner Mongolia Baogang Hospital from December 2014 to January 2016 were selected as the study objects, and the patients were divided into the observation group and the control group according to random number table method, with 35 cases in each group. The observation group was treated with VSD, while the control group was treated with routine therapy. The time of wound healing time, hospitalization days, the number of dressing change and the cost of dressing change were compared between the two groups. The occurrence of complications in the course of treatment were statistically analyzed.

Results

The wound healing time and hospitalization days in the observation group (10.42±4.09) days were significantly shorter than those in the control group (20.52±3.59) days, and the number of dressing changes (10.45±2.70) times and the cost of dressing changes (1002.43±188.69) yuan in the observation group were significantly less than those in the control group [(16.03±5.04) times, (2481.30±310.55) yuan; P<0.05]. In the observation group, two patients with transverse colon developed tension blisters around the wound. After sterilization, the blister fluid was extracted, and the gauze was added to the dressing. After one week, the VSD material were removal and blister area were completely healed.

Conclusion

The clinical effect of VSD in the treatment of abdominal wall wounds infection is better than that of routine treatment, and it can effectively promote the recovery of patients, so it is worth popularizing and applying.
