To explored the application of laparoscopy transabdominal preperitoneal repair (TAPP) in adult inguinal hernia.

A total of 134 cases with inguinal hernia who underwent TAPP in Wuhan Red Cross Hospital from March 2015 to December 2016 were enrolled in this retrospective analysis. All sorts of postoperative complications were studied and follow-up.

All cases were managed with homogenization of hospitalization according to the unilateral inguinal hernia's clinical pathway. Patch was fixed by medical chemistry adhesive. 23 cases of occult inguinal hernia were found in the operation, 6 cases in the ipsilateral and 17 cases in the contralateral which had been eliminated from clinical pathway. No antibiotics were used after surgery. The hospital stay was 3 to 5 days. During follow-up, there were 11 cases of seromas, which cured by puncture and fluid extraction and 5 cases with chronic pain (in 1 month) were cured by symptomatic treatment, and no recurrence was found.

With full coverage to the area of myopectineal orifice, TAPP had the ability of curative effect and less complications, and being easily promote in basic-level hospitals.
